Raisin series from M.C. Beaton. Agatha is Miss Marple with an edge. A retired
PR exec, the feisty Agatha thought life in the Cotswolds of England would be picturesque
and relaxing. Relaxing yes, but too boring for Agatha so she turns to solving the
village crimes. Amusing and fast, these mysteries are a lot of fun. The series is up to 28 books and counting!

M.C. Beaton also writes the Hamish MacBeth mystery series, the first of which is Death of a Gossip, as well as historical romance novels under her real name, Marion Chesney.
